5 out of 5 stars Worth the Money   March 6, 2010
J. Andersen (Utah)
I just bought this book for my wife because she had been looking for it forever. We've tried about 7 of the meals and 2 desserts so far. All were good. If you're a serious cook who wants to start healthier eating habits, buy this cookbook. The recipes are easy to follow and you can find all the ingredients easily.

5 out of 5 stars I can't stop cooking!   March 6, 2010
H. Frye (Grand Rapids, MI)
I love this new cookbook! I haven't tried a recipe yet that isn't delicious!!!! My 13 year old daughter even made the Stuffed Shells completely on her own (yes, it took her a long time, but hey, she's 13) and they were fantastic. The recipes are easy to follow and delicious. My only heads-up is some of them, the first time around, are time-consuming until you get the hand of it (and don't have to keep referring back to the book). My personal favorite is the "Skinny Down Home chicken Pot Pie". I also made the Buffalo Wings for a my husband and his friends - they raved about how great they were and one guy asked me for the recipe! Some other yummy ones we've tried (and loved!) are the mushroom & spinach quiche (the best quiche I have ever had!), stuffed mushrooms, chocolate brownies with raspberries (to die for), french onion soup, and lemon & poppyseed muffins. All are repeats at our house!! It's Saturday, and I'm looking to see which recipe I can try today!

Great book, losing lots of weight. Received it in great time. would purchase from again.

3 out of 5 stars Some good food, need stats   January 30, 2010
T. Knox (N.E. Mississippi)
We have really enjoyed some of the recipes in this book. The spaghetti and meatballs are excellent, so is the sweet and sour pork. The downside is that there is no nutrition info aside from calories. Some of the ingredients can be hard to find. This is not a low fat cookbook, but it gives some excellent alternatives to some high calorie high fat dishes.

5 out of 5 stars Cook Yourself Thin by learning to cook SKINNY MEALS.   January 17, 2010
D. Mitchell (Marion, IL)
My 20 year old daughter asked for this book for Christmas and has loved it. The title COOK YOURSELF THIN caught her eye. She is learning to cook and wants to be able to cook healthier meals. She is just starting to experience weight gain and wanted to make lifestyle changes that would help her lose some weight and maintain healthy weight long term. She has been excited after trying each new recipe and her fiance who is a "meat potato kind of guy" is even enjoying the meals she is preparing. They are simple to prepare, taste great, low fat and are more nutritious. Who wouldn't love it!
I would strongly recommend this book. Great Gift Idea for anyone interested in learning to cook healthy meals, to lose weight or just maintain their weight. It would be a great bridal shower gift. When we eat better, we feel better and when we add exercise our brain sends out hormones that increase our feeling of well-being. Becoming healthy feels good and can be fun!
