Delicious and easily prepared July 12, 2010 Ardith Dahlstrom (Hydesville, CA United States) Finally a cookbook that takes an honest approach to food that's not only good for you but delicious also. The recipes are easily read and not difficult to prepare. I saw it at a friends house and couldn't wait to get my hands on my own copy.
Full of gems! May 31, 2010 MM 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book, quite frankly, took me by surprise. The recipes in this book just *work.* I've been frustrated by how many times I've picked up a health-focused cookbook, only to be disappointed by recipes that don't turn out the way they should, taste terrible, or that need too much doctoring to make them work. Not so with this one! Ellie's balance of "all things in moderation" makes for meals that are truly delicious! Many, many of these recipes, while they might not jump out at you right away, deserve a second look. The spinach-artichoke dip is divine, as are many of the others. These recipes are realistic, and most do not have exotic ingredients. My only regret is that sometimes the recipes are a little *too* lenient with fats and sugar. Also, I would say only a third of the recipes are photographed; I love to see photos of the food I'm about to cook, and this book disappointed me in this aspect. However, just because the recipe doesn't have a photo doesn't mean it's not worth trying!! I've made many recipes from this book and have truly been impressed with each one. This one is a definite keeper, and I do believe there's a little something for everyone here.
Excellent cookbook May 31, 2010 J. Williams I really love this cookbook. Not only are the recipes great, the book itself is beautiful, with lots of pictures that really inspire you to want to make the dishes. They are really good, too, and show that eating healthy can be very simple and tasty. I definitely recommend this to anyone trying to step away from processed foods and takeout!

Delicious & Healthy! March 26, 2010 Chicago Mama Love this book! I love Ellie Krieger and her book doesn't disappoint. The recipes aren't the simplest to make, but they are delicious! Highly recommend!
